Well, Spring is nearly here. It's only a few days away. The fishing has begun though. I haven't had the pleasure of getting out on the water yet, but I have heard a lot of encouraging reports. Fortescue has been giving up some nice catches from the beach there using Bloodworms on the outgoing tide. Get there early though, you have to beat the locals to the spots. I have even heard of a few Stripers being caught off the beaches along the 5 and 7 mile beaches. Those reports were pretty sketchy though. The Delaware Bay is supposedly heating up as well with Perch and Stripers, my guess would be top water plugs for now. The mouths of any river or flats areas should be holding fish at this point. Worms and Clam should work along with plastics and lures. If the rain and wind would let up I could get out for a shot! Back bays are starting to look good too.

I've heard of some Tog catches in the back waters. And would venture to guess there might be some nice Flounder around as well. April has always been our best Flounder month, along with November. But of course state regulations deny us these pleasures. At any rate, the season is unfolding nicely. Lets hope it continues to get better and better!

Here's a plug for a new company I really like: Cablz. the Original Eyewear Retainer That Stays Off Your Neck! If you haven't seen these things, you are missing out! Solidly build with heavy rubber grips and surgical grade stainless cable or mono. They come in sizes 12", 14", and 16". They stay off of your neck and do not absorb sweat. They move with your head too. I've been using a pair since February and love them! I highly recommend them to anyone who wears sunglasses and wants to keep them attached. Hopefully they will be available in our local shops soon. If you are interested you can check out their website at: www.cablz.com These guys are great to deal with, so check them out!

I'll keep you posted if i ever get out...

On a political note; as fishermen we should make it a point to boycott the following: world wildlife fund, international fund for animal welfare, noaa, green peace, peta, pew, defenders of wildlife, obama, and many more. These anti-fishing, enviro nuts need to be put in check. Don't fund them! Don't support them!

Here's one we should all work on too: Lets get all of the political action groups in favor of fishing to work together as one unit. Maybe then we could accomplish something! They all have their own agendas, they all want your money, but they all work separately. United we stand, divided we fall. Get together!

Well, here we are smack in the middle of Winter... Is it March yet? Actually, I like Winter. Snow is a blast, especially when you have children to enjoy it with. Building a snowman, snow ball fights, sledding, it's all good. Heck, with all of this rain we've even had our own ice skating rinks in the yard. And when it wasn't frozen, the girls had fun paddling the john boat around on big adventures.
Hopefully we get a few more nice snowfalls before Spring.

I've heard that Tog and other fishing has been fairly decent offshore. I keep saying I'll go, but never seem to find the time. Got the fishing gear all cleaned and prepped for next season. Been in the process of ordering supplies and what not too. Just got a bunch of my favorite Slug-go's in bubblegum. Still have a lot of Bass Kandy Delights left over. Can't beat the two for just about any fish we have swimming around in our waters. Picked up two Bomber Badonk-a-donks to try out. Look a lot like Mirrolures, except the eye is placed differently. We'll see. Hopefully March brings the Stripers onto the flats and they fall prey to the top water plugs we throw. Doesn't get much more fun than that!

In case anyone is interested, I am selling my little 14'6" Lowe boat. It is 2 years old, but never been used. I bought it to go clamming and duck hunting, but still have not put her in the water. It has a nice Venture trailer with it. Gas tank, lights, and other stuff. I also have, brand new, a 15HP 4 stroke Mercury engine for it. Also never used. 0 hours. Combined, I paid about $4,990. Make me an honest offer. The boat has been in my back yard and is clean. The engine has been in my garage. If interested, let me know: 609-425-9401.

There are photo's on my home page of the boat and motor.

Well, for now it's all about the boat shows, fishing flea markets, carving decoys, and making sinkers, jigs, and rigs. Once Spring arrives, I'll be ready! Tight Lines!
